What are we teaching our Children

An article on Medium had this quote …

How We Can Teach Children To Be Good People on Medium

I was at a convention recently about writing. One fiction writer mentioned that we always have to “draw the line” at any Nazi behavior. Stories with bad guys should never have a chance to be redeemed, she thought. She was trying to say that we should not tolerate very bad and horrendous behavior.

And that paragraph Stopped me in my thoughts. What are we teaching our kids about the world as we blunder through uncertainty and seeming chaos? Are we teaching them as we often say, “Actions have consequences”?

A person does something wrong. goes to court. Court agrees they have done something wrong. And and and and we talk about what they did wrong, and and and …..

Nothing . Where is Karma when you need her?

Is this what gets the guts of adults as well as children? I am thinking this is what is anxiety producing?

I think it is for me. I know it is for me. Add deep sigh………

Joan Baez

So I just got a Bluetooth headband that brings music to that split stereo sound I recall from the ‘60’s.

(I’ve recently been captured musically by Sons of Legion …more about them later.)

But my playlist tripped over to Joan Baez. Her son’s name is Gabriel. I wanted to see what he was doing…and found his daughter, Jasmine, is a singer-songwriter. The funny story was that she didn’t really understand her Grandmother’s fame until they got to go backstage at a Taylor Swift Concert and Joan was treated like royalty.

Here’s a quote from Joan “

New Shoes

James has new shoes ! He is so excited These have a stripe of Orange on them too! Oh mommy thank you!

we miss out on those things don’t we. The simple joy that a child feels It takes a lot to impress us . Well let’s say No more to that. Let us celebrate the easy things. That purple sunrise color, the birds chirps at 5 am. You name it. Let me know. Share a simple joy. In the meantime Breathe!
